  1. INTRODUCTION OF DEPTT
    DDU Hospital is the biggest referral hospital of west Delhi. Being a referral center in West Delhi, Department of General Surgery is receiving patients from all nearby private and Govt. hospital, both for routine and emergency cases.
    The  department,  is managing 24X7 emergency, IPD services on all days and   extending OPD  service on all working days.  

    The extensive clinical services provided by the Department of General Surgery are dedicated to the wellness and treatment of adults and children of  West Delhi.
    Our faculty, staff, and residents are committed to service and excellence to provide best possible care.

    • Expansion of the surgical horizon by expanding works on vascular surgery, breast surgery and starting Bariatric Surgery with an aim to introduce Robotics in the department.

    EMERGENCY SERVICES
    • We provide 24x7 emergency service
    • All kinds of trauma -  blunt or penetrating chest, abdominal and limb trauma
    • Other non trauma surgical emergencies.

    ELECTIVE  SURGERIES
    The department provides the following services in elective setting
    • Routine general surgical procedures
    • Urologic surgery
    • Vascular surgeries
    • Breast surgery
    • Oncological surgery
    • Video Assisted Thoracoscopic ( VATS) procedures
    • Advanced laparoscopic surgeries

    • Breast clinic
    • Vascular and Diabetic foot clinic
     
  3. ACADEMICS

    The department is accreditated with NBEMS for running DNB Post MBBS Broad specialty training in General surgery and has been allocated 6 seats. Faculties are the examiners, assessors, member of surgery board in NBEMS and member of many national and international academic organizations

    The faculties are  actively involved in Conducting meetings of Scientific research committee and Institutional Ethics Committee as member and member secretary for evaluating research protocols DNB students and many faculty members  of DDU Hospital.

    The department of Surgery organizes CME under the aegis of of Delhi State Chapter of ASI was in May every year which is very well appreciated.
     
  4. FACULTY AND UNITS

    The department of surgery is headed by Dr PS Sarangi and has Two units- UNIT I & UNIT II.  5 doctors as faculty. Unit I is headed by Dr PS Sarangi and Unit II is headed by Dr Puneet Chhibber.
